Park Guell, Arc de Truimf, Gaudi houses, & yesterday

John left yesterday morning at 7am (1am your time), & got home last night at 11:30pm your time (5:30am my time).
Vaxjo has had 3 days of sunshine in a row! It's melting that snow away. I'm pretty ready for spring!!!
Life sized mammoth at Park Guell. John just had to see it, but it wasn't at cool at he hoped. It was a highlight on the map, & we aren't quite sure why.
Arc de Triumf (yes it's spelled right)
A house designed by Gaudi
Another house designed by Gaudi. It had quite a different style. It's called La Padrera. He built it to be apartments in the early 1900's. People were so in awe of it, that they opened it up as a museum.

Gaudi designed the houses to have natural lighting, mostly natural heating & air conditioning. These are the chimneys on the top of the roof. Very cool!

Webster says a mammoth is different from an elephant because of the hugh tusks and it has body hair. Did you know that? Your blog is a daily reading at our house. Love to be on your email list, too. rjkemp@cell1net.net

I can understand why it takes Gaudi so long to finish a building. I have never seen such detail. Not my style. gs

Sounds like the Spanish need to hire some Tennessee contractors. There are a couple of apartment building that look like they were based on Gaudi's architectural style and they were finished in 16 months with good old fashion Mexican labor.
