Giant's Causeway

Our favorite part of the trip by far!
"the organ"
This is the mountain we climbed.
Above Nathan's head is a tiny pointy rock. Actually, it's very large in real life. It's called "the chimney" because it's more unique than the others.
After climbing a long trail & 162 steps, we reached the top of the mountain. This is looking down on Giant's Causeway. Blow up the picture, & it almost looks like a graph.

"the chair"
...don't know her
"the Giant's eye"
The wierd rocks were everywhere. Growing horizontally & vertically in mountains & out of the beach.

They never said for sure what caused this to happen. I heard someone mention a possible volcano could have caused it. This beach area has them, while Scotland has some on a beach across the ocean. There are different versions of the legend. Our tourguide said that a man in Ireland built these to reach across the sea to Scotland to go see his rival. When he got there he found out his rival was a Giant. So the Irish man quickly came back.
