I got back from Russia yesterday. To get there & back, we traveled by trainto Stockholm, boat to Finland, & bus to Russia. On our way back we got through the border very quickly & we were able to get a brief tour of Helsinki, Finland! In Russia, people are not very happy or helpful. Everything looks old. I felt like I traveled back in time. Finland is gorgeous. Although thier nature looks the same, Russia really doesn't bother to take care of things like Finland does.
On the main square in St. Petersburg. Nicholas the Great statue, & St. Isaac's Cathedral, on of the biggest cathedrals in the world.

On the way to Pushkin & Catharine's Palace, we kept passing these landmarks. It took us an hour to drive to the palace. In the olden days, it took the horses about a day to get these. The landmarks has numbers telling how much farther is left, & it helped keep them on track.
Catharine's Palace her husband built her. The garden is in front.
A statue of Lenin. Most have been taken down, but this was left up in Vyborg.
